Lenovo’s T40 notebook PC was designed with mobility in mind.  It weighs just under 5 pounds and is thin and streamlined, making it light and conveniently portable.  It features something called UltraBay Slim,  which is a revolutionary 9.5 mm optical drive - 31 percent smaller than standard optical notebook drives.  It also has a special design to control temperature so it won’t overheat.  Another great feature is an integrated HDD shock absorber.  If you drop your laptop, or it suffers some other sort of impact, this integrated shock absorber will provide extra protection.

The Thinkpad T40 has a 1.5GHz Pentium M processor, plus 512MB of RAM.  The hard drive has a capacity of 40GB, and the operating system is Microsoft® Windows XP Professional.  There’s a convenient CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo drive, integrated LAN and dialup modem, and the notebook has two USB ports.  The monitor on this model is a 14.1″ TFT active-matrix LCD display, one of the reasons this systems manages to be so lightweight.
