Notebooks as low as $599.99 at BestBuy.com

Thanksgiving is just around the corner (you can almost smell the turkey roasting already), and that means… huge shopping sprees the day after!  It’s probably the best day of the year to look for a bargain, and with BestBuy.com you won’t even have to tackle any crowds while you do your browsing.  Right now, BestBuy.com has a number of good offers on inexpensive notebook computers, and you don’t even have to wait until Friday to take advantage of them.

There are two nice laptops to pay attention to, and depending on your budget, either is a wise purchase.  The first is the economical eMachines Notebook with Mobile AMD Sempron processor for just $549.  This machine comes with many excellent features, including a 15″ XGA TFT-LCD display with 1024 x 768 resolution.  The hard drive is 40GB, 512MG of RAM is installed, and you’ll get other bonuses like a DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, a 4-in-1 digital medial reader, firewire and USB ports, and wireless LAN, ethernet LAN, and a conventional modem.  Windows XP Home SP2 is preinstalled, and the upgrade to Vista will be free.  This low-priced laptop computer qualifies for the “$50 off a printer” offer, as well as a $14.99 add-on of a case and USB hub if you’re interested.

The second item you’ll want to look at is the Compaq V6105NR Notebook package, which includes a mouse, a USB hub, and a carrying case for $652.99.  Like the eMachines laptop, this one has a 15″ monitor, but it’s a widescreen with resolution of 1280 x 800. RAM is the same, while the hard drive is substantially larger at 100GB.  Running on a Celeron processor, this laptop package has a DVD-RW/CD-RW drive, but no media card reader.  Other features are comparable to the eMachines machine notebook, and purchasing this will allow you a free upgrade to Vista when the product is released.

These are both low-priced laptop computers from a reputable retailer, and you may find that others catch your eye as your browse the BestBuy.com site, so I hope you’ll consider them as you do your holiday shopping.
