A little bit of everything in a desktop system for just $309.99NewEgg.com is always a great place to look for a bargain, and today is no exception. Available right now for just $309.99 is the Lenovo 3000 J105, a fully-loaded desktop computer with tons of features. In fact, about the only component this system doesn’t include is a monitor. This bargain-priced desktop computer is powered by an AMD Sempron3000+ processor, which runs at 1.8GHz. There’s 256MB of DDR400 RAM to get you started, although you’ll probably want to upgrade to at least 512MB, or the maximum of 2GB, for faster performance in the future. Graphics and audio are both integrated. There’s a CD-ROM drive, but if you decide you’d like CD-RW or DVD capabilities, you can add-on using one of the many available expansion bays — an external 3.5″ bay, and external 5.25″ bay, and another internal 3.5″ bay (best used for adding on something like an extra hard drive, for example). The main hard drive is 80GB. THe Lenovo 3000 J105 includes a 56K modem and a 10/100 ethernet connection to give you flexibility. There’s a floppy disk drive, too — they’re practically becoming extinct so this is a somewhat rare feature on a desktop now. There are ports for just about anything you can think of — six USB ports (2 front, 4 rear), VGA, serial, and parallel ports, and both microphone in and headphone out jacks for your audio projects. I nearly forget to mention this desktop package includes two attractive speakers, and of course, a keyboard and optical wheel mouse. Putting the finishing touches on the setup is Windows XP Home edition. The retail price of this brand new desktop computer is actually $329.99, but NewEgg.com has an instant rebate of $20.00. They also offer three-day business shipping for just $23.64. With a manufacturer’s warranty of one full year, it would be tough to find a better deal on such a comprehensive yet reasonably-priced desktop computer. Leave a Reply | |
