NewEgg.com is always a great place to look for a computer bargain.  For example, today I found a deal on a NASCAR PC NCL3006 NoteBook, priced at a low $549.99.  To sweeten the deal even more, if you purchase this notebook between now and December 31st, you’re eligible for a $50 mail-in rebate.  That leaves you with a final cost of $499.99 (plus $13.34 for three-day shipping), so it’s a great entry-level laptop for business, school, or home.

The “NASCAR” in the product’s name really does refer to NASCAR auto racing.  Manufacturer Cisnet PC has partnered with NASCAR to sponsor auto racing in exchange for marketing limited-edition NASCAR desktop and notebook computers.  The inference, of course, is that these computers are fast, and they seem to meet that promise. 

The NCL3006 notebook is powered by an AMD Turion processor running at 1.6GHz.  It ships with 512MB of DDR333 RAM, but you can upgrade to 2GB after purchase.  The integrated graphics card is a nice one — an integrated ATI Radeon Xpress which shares 128MB of memory.  You’ll appreciate it when you use the 15.4″ Wide XGA display screen, which can display a resolution of up to 1280 x 800.  This budget notebook has a 60GB hard drive.

There are no shortage of bonus features on the NCL3006.  There’s an 8x DVD+/-RW drive,  a 56K modem, 10/100Mbps LAN, and 802.11b/g wireless LAN.  It also includes 4 USB ports, an IEEE 1394 Firewire port, 1 VGA port (for an optional external monitor), and an S-video TV-out connection.  There’s an integrated 3-in-1 card reader (SD/MS/MMC), and one available Type I/II PC card slot.  You also get headphone and speaker jacks.  NewEgg has a combo offer for a portable, external USB speaker for an extra $20, so that’s definitely something you might want to consider purchasing (look for the “combo deals” tab on the NASCAR PC NCL3006 NoteBook ordering page).  And, just for fun, you’ll get a NASCAR-branded Logitech mouse.

The manufacturer offers a one year warranty on the NCL3006 notebook — you can think of it as your laptop pit crew.  This low-priced laptop is a great buy for a bargain hunter or a NASCAR fan, and it’s truly well-equipped.  Don’t forget the mail-in rebate bonus offer!
