Fast eMachine desktop at TigerDirectThis budget-priced desktop proves you can get good-looks without having to break the bank. At just $299.99 from Tiger Direct, it’s a computer which will look nice in any office or dorm room, and it even comes with two streamlined speakers. Because it’s designed by eMachines, the case is easy to remove if you want to do any maintenance or cleaning, and it has other user-friendly features such a scroll-wheel mouse, handy shortcut buttons on the keyboard, and color-coded inputs on the rear. Speaking of the rear, if you take a peek back there you’ll see your standard ports: parallel, serial, VGA, keyboard, mouse, audio, ethernet, and modem. There are also four USB ports on the rear, plus on on the front. The USB port on the front is next to one of my favourite features of this low-priced computer: a built-in multicard reader which is compatible with CompactFlash, MicroDrive, MemoryStick, MemoryStick Pro, SmartMedia, MultiMedia and SecureDigital cards. Inside the eMachines T3104, there’s a fast AMD Sempron 1.8 GHz CPU, a 100 GB hard drive, and 256 MB of RAM (max. of 2 GB). While it doesn’t come with a floppy drive, it does have a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, so you can store data and music. Play back music and movies through the two front speakers, but remember to bring your own popcorn and your own monitor, because this package includes neither. The only other item of note which isn’t built-in to this desktop computer is a Firewire card. It does include Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2 though, so if you just consider the retail price of that alone, you’ll realize that you probably couldn’t build this computer yourself for such a low price. It also includes the manufacturer’s warranty, and you can purchase additional warranty years through Tiger Direct if you choose. Leave a Reply | |
